The Dealer Is Unlicensed
Unlicensed dealerships can come in a couple of different varieties. Some of them appear, from all outward appearances, to look like a valid dealership with a car lot and salesmen but are actually not licensed by the State of Michigan to sell cars, vans, trucks or SUV’s. While curbstoners are people who may or may not present themselves as the person who owns the vehicle when in reality they do not. They actually “flip” vehicles by regularly buying cheap cars, doing a minimal amount of work on them (often cosmetically) to make them look better and then resell them quickly. Both are illegal due to Michigan Vehicle Code that requires the Department of State license and regulates vehicle dealers and to investigate and prosecute dealers who operate without a license. If a dealership won’t allow you to take the car for a test drive, it’s time to beat feet and run, not walk from it.
You Feel Rushed To Decide
If they are putting high-pressure tactics on you to make a decision quickly, this might not be the right minivan, car, truck or SUV for you. Reputable dealers with reliable vehicles aren’t looking to just capture a quick sale. They should be interested in building a lasting relationship that results in the buyer feeling comfortable, leaving them wanting to return to purchase vehicles in the future. In addition, if a dealership is trying to strong arm you to buy now and won’t let you take the vehicle to a trusted mechanic to inspect, it’s time to walk away from the vehicle.
They Have A Lot Of Negative Reviews
