Used Car Buying Myths

Kelly Blue Book Is Always Right

While Kelly Blue Book is a great starting point for gauging what your vehicle’s value is, it should be taken as just that… a starting point and not what is written in stone.  Online tools like KBB, Edmunds and NADA are great resources that can help a buyer or seller understand better a price point for any given make and model but there are many factors that go into determining a vehicle’s exact worth.  Some of these include the market, demand and location.

 

Financing At The Dealership Is Always Bad

Transparent financing is not always the rule of thumb for most dealership and the reason why you may have been warned against securing financing through a new or used dealership.  When some dealerships secure your finance rate from a lender, many opt to mark up that very interest rate, increasing the money you’ll pay for the vehicle in interest and putting money in the pockets of the dealer that you may not realize they’re receiving.  Broadmoor Motors works with many of the same banks and credit unions that are familiar to you already, but a singular difference from the other car dealerships in town, we choose not to mark up the interest rate you’re paying for your vehicle.

 

A Lower Payment Means The Best Deal

Getting a low payment on your vehicle sounds great but if you pay too much in interest or your payments go on for another year or two, how much are you really saving?  When buying a car it’s important to look at all the numbers before evaluating if it’s the right deal for you.  Besides the price of the vehicle, look at your interest rate, the terms of the loan, and what you’re receiving for your trade in, as well as any hidden fees you might not be aware are involved in either your financing or the overall sale.
