In the world of Salvage Title vehicles, not all are created equal. The good news is that a Stolen and Recovered Salvage title is the safest option of them all and offer a variety of benefits to the buyer without the risks that are customary of other salvage title vehicles. To understand salvage titles and their risk, it’s important to understand first why a vehicle may have been given one.

Salvage vehicles are ones that are deemed a total loss by an insurance company for any of the following reasons:

  1. Collision damage more than the worth from an accident
  2. Flood damage (will be indicated on the title)
  3. Someone died in the vehicle
  4. Stolen and recovered

Unlike damage done from a flood or a collision from an accident, stolen & recovered vehicles are not necessarily deemed a salvage due to repair costs being more than the vehicle’s worth and often times are given a salvage title due to the time it took to recover the vehicle or because of each state’s regulations. In fact, many have little to no damage at all!   But when you’re considering whether or not to purchase a salvage title vehicle, it is important to watch out for the following…

They Don’t Disclose Its History

Whether or not the vehicle was deemed a salvage through extensive damage or had none at all, a dealership or a private individual should be upfront and honest about it being a salvage title and why it was deemed that way. If they aren’t willing to be open and honest about it from the get-go, it leaves you wondering what else they could know about it but don’t feel obligated to tell you regarding the vehicle?

They Won’t Show You Before Pictures

A dealership that is selling a salvage title vehicle should be able to provide photos of the vehicle when they purchased it from the auction so you can see for yourself the condition it was in before they made any repairs. We highly recommend asking to see these pictures before buying it and if they are unwilling to show them to you, you might want to consider walking away from the deal.

They Offer No Warranty On The Vehicle

One of the benefits of buying a pre-owned vehicle from a dealership over a private seller is getting a warranty with the vehicle. While many used car dealerships do not offer any kind of warranty on their vehicles, Broadmoor Motors is happy to provide a 30 Day Warranty on our vehicles, including salvage title vehicles! If you are considering buying a salvage title vehicle, we suggest buying one from a dealership who is willing to stand behind it with a warranty.

They Have Poor Reviews

It seems like a no brainer to us, but buying from a dealership you can trust means at the very least that you’ll be buying a reliable vehicle and getting a fair price on it in the process.  While many buyers take the time to research the safety and reliability of a car, they often overlook checking out the dealer they’re interested in purchasing that very vehicle from.  Today’s world of online reviews makes it that much easier to see what past customers have said about their experience while offering you a better idea of the environment you’ll be walking into.  Knowing you can believe and trust a car dealer is always important but it can be especially important when purchasing a salvage vehicle when you need to feel confident they are disclosing all of the pertinent information regarding its prior condition. Broadmoor Motors prides itself on providing a variety of good vehicles, at a fair price and giving our customers an incredible, pressure-free shopping experience in the process. We also encourage everyone to check out our Reviews on Google!

They Don’t Offer To Buy It Back

Often times, prospective buyers shy away from salvage title vehicles because they are afraid they will have trouble reselling the vehicle someday in the future. Broadmoor Motors understands that concern but it’s not one you need to have if you purchase a salvage vehicle from us. Because we are very familiar with the history of the vehicle already, we are happy to buy it back from you when the time comes for you to move onto a newer vehicle.
